The 450-5GT-40 is a synchronous belt with the PowerGrip GT (Gates) profile, a 5 mm tooth pitch and a length of 450 mm. It has 90 teeth and is used where the distance between the servomotor and ball-screw pulleys is greater — typically in larger machining centres, multi-spindle lathes and machining centres with a more extensive working area.
The belt's construction remains standard: a strong neoprene band reinforced with glass-fibre cords, with fabric-faced teeth against wear. The PowerGrip GT profile ensures precise synchronous transmission without slip even under the high dynamic loads common on the axes of larger CNC machines.
The 450-5GT-40 belt is used in the axis drives of larger CNC machining centres, machining centres and multi-spindle lathes. When replacing it, we recommend replacing the belt as a pair with the tensioner pulley if the machine has two parallel belts — uneven wear leads to uneven loading and premature failure of the new unit.
On machines with a pair of parallel belts (e.g. a spindle drive via two pulleys) we recommend replacing both at once — an older belt worn by even one more cycle will quickly destroy the new one. What we'll need from you →
