The 400-5GT-40 is a belt with the PowerGrip GT (Gates) profile, currently the standard for precise synchronous drives in industry. The GT profile is a modern evolution of the classic HTD with a wider, deeper tooth — transmitting higher loads at the same width, reducing vibration and improving service life at high speeds.
The belt's construction combines neoprene rubber with glass-fibre cords for tensile strength; the tooth layer has a fabric facing to reduce friction and wear against the pulley. The designation 400-5GT-40 describes a circumference of 400 mm, a tooth pitch of 5 mm (80 teeth) and a belt width of 40 mm.
The 400-5GT-40 belt is fitted as the drive belt between the servomotor and the ball screw on the X, Y, Z axes of mid-size CNC machining centres and lathes. Alternatively as a spindle drive via a pulley on smaller CNC machines, where the belt reduces noise compared with a direct drive.
We recommend verifying the exact length, pitch and width before ordering by measuring your existing belt — even a small length deviation requires adjusting the tensioner assembly. What we'll need from you →
Send the type, year of manufacture and a photo of your existing belt — we'll verify the variant and send a quote, usually within 24 hours.
